Abstract The objective of this project is to assess the associations of behavioral (smoking, body mass index, physical activity, and diet) and biological (blood pressure, glucose indices, and cholesterol levels) cardiovascular risk factors as well as changes in these risk factors with depression and anxiety symptoms in a cohort of community-dwelling adults, the Greater Beirut Area CardioVascular Cohort (GBACC; mean age=45; n=502). A secondary objective is to examine the associations of these factors with migraine. Together, these investigations will help to evaluate on the overlap and differences in the link between cardiovascular risk factor and neurological and psychological conditions. As such, this study proposes to conduct a follow-up examination of the Greater Beirut Area CardioVascular Cohort in order to assess depression, anxiety, and migraine in that sample and to collect follow-up data on important cardiovascular, medical, and lifestyle measures that were assessed at baseline (in 2014).
